BREAKING NEWS!... we've known/hoped that this day would come since we posted great news on Nikes patent information back in 2010. Yes, its official Nike have announced they will be releasing replica sneakers based on those from worn by Marty McFly in Back to the Future 2. Originals have fetched mega bucks in recent auctions and as mentioned in our earlier post die hard fans have created working prototypes to the power lace system. 2015 is not that far away guys, we've gotta get this and the hoverboard nailed SOON!

And 1500 pairs have been constructed, all auctioned and all proceeds going to the Micheal J Fox Parkinsons foundation. Cant knock the cause, thats awesome, but they are definitely out of reach to the masses ;-(
